Olive African House Snake

chaoscat Dec 04, 2003 05:32 PM

I just got back from Southern Cali a few days ago (been taking a much needed snooze time since I got back) and thought I'd share photos of the snakes I bought while I was down there.

First is my Olive phase African House snake. I bought her from the East Bay Vivarium in Berkeley. They let me see the mother-gorgrous!!!

She's calm as can be, and eats great-like most house snakes.

My black/green phase hatchlings (7/31/03 hatch date) originally came from East Bay... Looks a lot like my little pair. How'd the parents look? Do you have the hatch date for yours? Just curious. Good luck with them!

Hatch date for mine was 7/03 as well, so she is probably a sibling to yours

I got to see the mother-she is a beauty! Looks more black than green until you get her under sunlight.

We'll have to compare notes over time to see how they grow. My pair have skipped a couple meals recently, one due to shed and the other for unknown reasons (just refused the meal though they seemed interested). I'm glad to hear the mother was nearly black. That's what I was looking for when I picked these up. I had a black AHS years ago and she was always one of my sweetest little snakes so I bought the pair out of nostalgia.
Hope your little one does well!

Oh Please tell me how I can get some of those black/green beauties. Will the ones you bought them from ship? How much were they?

Thanks in advance
