I used eco earth in the past and it is my favorite bedding but when you have allot of snakes with large cages the stuff will cost you allot of money. I buy a very large bag of white shavings that cost me about $8 and that last for about a month or two but if you can afford the eco earth I would just use that because it looks better and hold humidity well.

I use aspen as well. I used newspaper in the past and I still like that, but I feel that the boas are more comfotable with the aspen shavings (seems to me like they enjoy borrowing in it).
Maybe I am wrong, but I think that pine shavings are not all hat good for boas. I believe I read somewhere that pine has oils in it similar to cedar. I could be wrong, but it is worth investigating.

For all my larger cages and tanks, I used old cotton sheets. They look attractive for the most part (do have a couple of tacky yard sale sets lol) and make cleanup a breeze - shake the solids into the trash or commode and drop the sheets in the washer with hot water, soap & bleach. For the 7 tubs I have, I use paper towels. With a total of 25 snakes now, I can clean and disinfect every cage plus scrub the water bowls in about 4 hours (probably less if I didn't take a few minutes playing with most of the snakes ).
