i was just browsing this message board and saw a post saying that crested geckos are starting to get sold at PetCo for $35.

when did this happen? i'm in SF and visit the PetSmart & PetCo every-so-often for one of my many pets and have only seen two different geckos being sold: leopard geckos & house geckos. and why would they sell for $35? it's hard finding cresteds at that price that don't have their tails fallen off. news to me!

I work for petco in Rhode Island, and we (at least in RI) are net seeling crested geckos for $35. In the store I work at we have baby and adults for $70, but we did have a sale one the small ones for $50 each (I got two).

really? one of the guys said it was $35 - that's still cool though... i just hope a lot of the people who buy them are at least experienced herpers - and ready beginners. i'm still a beginner, but i've been studying husbandry and care for sooo long it feels like i have one - haha but just a leo. that's cool tho - do you know when they're gonna start selling in san francisco?

You misunderstood my comment. I'm not sure if this is petco nationwide but the local petco just struck a deal with sandfire ranch. They get pretty much regular cresteds in bulk from them and are able to sell them very low. I'm not sure about the other stores around here, but petco gets them for about 35 and sell for roughly 50 down. My bad to confuse you.

Ohhhh icic... yeah i did misunderstand when i 1st read it, i was like WHOA $35?! hehehe.. but that's cool - i was just amazed coz i never thot petco would sell them. thanks for clearing it up for me anton!

I don't know about the coasts, but here in the Midwest, that is incorrect. I was actually speaking to a co-worker about it, and she said that we(Petco) "just don't sell Cresteds". I think that is stupid, and am going to try to get some in, but for now, I can offically vouch, and no Petcos in Omaha, NE (we have 4) sell or will sell in the near future, Crested Geckos.
