Rhino Iguanas

WaGuy82 Dec 04, 2003 07:15 PM

Hi everyone! I was wondering if you guys can point me in the direction of where some caresheets would be? I haven't seen any books out on rhino iguanas. Are their care similar to green iguanas? I am just thinking about it, very far from acquiring one. Is there any thing I should know or consider before getting one? From what I understand, they're a lil easier to tame than green iguanas? Also, what size enclosure would I be looking at? Anyhow, thanks for any information you can provide. I familiar with herps and my collection includes two trios of ackies, lots of bearded dragons, and a pair of prehensile tailed skinks, so I do have the basics (uvb) down.

cyclura.com/articles/ scrool down a ways till you find "West Indian rock Iguanas" by David Blair. Its about a 7 page article. Start there and if you have any other questions go over to the cyclura forum on KS.

I have a Rhino in great health that I can't keep due to canine interaction. If you are intersted, please e-mail me at srichter@tampabay.rr.com. The rhino is about tree months old and I have had it since it was just one week old. He is in great health and is a great eater. I didn't think my dogs would be very interested in it, but they are dying to play with it and that isn't the best thing for a delicate iguana! I have to get rid of him even though I hate to.
