Here're some of mine:

Males: Bacchus, Apollo, Morpheus, Paris, Ceasar (I know he's an exception)

Females: Artemis, Daphne, Selene, Hellen, Athena, Circe, Persephone, Thisbe, Calypso...

You stole Thisbe!
Oh well, at least I have a Pyramus.
(who am i kidding, i end up calling them all 'cupcake' anyway)

As a side note, 'Ifrit' is also an excellent name for a gecko.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?

How about "Agamemnon" ? That's a good greek name.

It's pronouncd how it's spelled. LOL

I named my little girl "Echo" (the gecko).

If it had been a male, I'd probably have had more fun with the naming and given it either a tribute name like Ziggy (Stardust- In honour of Bowie), or Eddie (Vedder/Van Halen), or something like that. Or possibly some sort of common name. I think a gecko named 'Jim the Gecko' or 'Bob the Gecko' would have been funny.

How about Laverne and Shirley? Patty and Selma? Lucy and Ethel? That's all the female pairs I can come up with at this time of the morning...

Either way, you'll probably abbreviate it down to one syllable. Even with a 2 syllable name, I still find myself calling her 'Eck' when I'm letting her know dinner's ready.

My daughter named her first gecko "Rupi" after Ian Anderson's (lead of Jethro Tull) cat, and "Rupi's Song" off of his new album. She was facinated at how catlike her new gecko was.
Then we liked them so much we acquired 5 more. We decided to keep with the Celtic naming, but also going into the mystic angle with some of them. So our two males are Ian (of course, after Ian Anderson) and Warlock. The new females are Wicca, Rune and Luna.
Good luck with the naming, and let us know what you decide!

Those are some cool names........funny that i didn't think of them seeing as i have studied the celtic/mystic cultures. I have a great interest in medieval history too and was thinking of using names like Morgan (morgan le fae) and Arthor. I didn't use those names, but i did find ones that suited my geckos well.
