Does anyone else do this?

dilwann Dec 04, 2003 07:50 PM

Every night around 12am I get out of bed and enter my snake room. I have a flash light sitting on a shelf right next to the door so I dont disturb my snakes. I probably spend about 10 min. just looking at my snakes to check how the breeders are doing and to see the little ones roam around there cages. I have more fun watching them at night than I do during the day because they are so active. Does anyone else do this?

I'm in there quite a bit at night myself, the old lady is starting to worry,LOL

Except I check them out before I go to bed. Once I'm in bed.......I'm out!
It's nice to know there are others out there who do the same thing.

That's fun. I check on mine when I get up in the middle of the night for no reason. If you really want to see something cool, check out a reef tank (live coral) after the lights go out. I used a dark blue or dark red light. All sorts of things you don't see come out after dark; stuff you didnt even put in there!

I have a tendency to sleep walk, and for the past few days, when I wake up in the morning I go to the snake room to find the lock undone, the door open, and the lights on....so apparantly I like to look at them while still asleep as well.

All but two of my snakes are in my living room (the other two are in a bathroom - my 'quarantine' room lol). So I tend to watch them a good deal all evening...once I'm in bed I don't move 'til the alarm shrieks.

Our BCI has the place of honor at the foot of the bed. She only comes out of her hide about 10pm and only if she's hungry or thirsty. If she's out you can find my BF and I laying perfectly still at the foot of the bed watching. We keep a purple night light on her just for the show.

My corns also share the bedroom and those suckers are loud and always out roaming (looking for the inter-dimentional escape hole I think), but I love watching them too. Especially on feeding night. I get all these little heads poking up out of their hides like the Loch Ness monster coming up for air.
