Is this good growth rate

Rottenweiler9 Dec 04, 2003 09:07 PM

My Red Tail is a year old 4ft but skinny, only eating medium rats, she did have one large one and it was to big. She only eats like once a week to 14 days now. She use to eat all the time like every five days. Am I feeding her to much. And when do they start to gain some girth.

If she is four foot now, I would start to slow down her feeding to one rat every 10 to fourteen days. I'm not saying you HAVE to, this is just what I personally would do. Ultimately, I guess you have to play it by eye.
Good luck with her! Got any pics to share?

No pics at this time, I have to get one of those doc stations. Maybe I will buy one for my girlfriend for X-mas.

Why would cut back to that? Thats about when she eats now. She is not very thick though. Its weird a med rat does not make a bump in her but a large one makes a huge bump, she does not always eat the large ones, but when I just put the med ones in she eats it. Weird I tell you, one day she is nailing them off the tongs and now I have to just lay it in there for her, and leave it alone. I prefer that but what a change.

Thank you
Jeff
