I believe you have to look up the heaters in the aquarium supplies.I know I have bought them before, and I received the heaters through DrFoster&Smith catalog.I paid about $20.00 for a 300 watt heater. Here is a number you can call to place the order, and I will give you a # for the heater. It will be the 300 watt model.I think this is the best buy for the money. The heater don't have to work as hard.If you are only heating a small amount of water than I would recommend a smaller wattage.!-800-443-1160 #je11959 300 watt #je11957 150 watt #je11955 50 watt
I do think it is a good idea,of what the other gentlman said about putting a pvc pipe around the heater, and drilling holes in it.Just make sure you have the heater in a position that it will get plenty of water circulation. You can still burn up a heater with no circulation. All my tanks are drilled, and have plumbing in them, with a wetdry filter in them.My heater stays in the filter down below, but it gets plenty of water circulation due to the fact I have a pump that turns the tank over six times an hour.Well I hope this helps. Sorry about the long letter. Sincerly Mike
