If you're living in a dorm, I'm going to assume you're a student and will be living in rental property for the next couple of years.
A full grown beardie might be an issue with a landlord as they get relatively large quickly. A full grown leo is only 8-10" and can live comfortably in a 10-20 gallon tank. They're social, tame, and friendly (generally). Don't expect them to be friendly right off the bat or be incredibly active and playful. But if you've gone this far in reasearching, I'm going to assume you know that lizards are great pets, but it's not like they're going to run around and play a lot (like a cat or dog). You can handle them (sparingly at first until they're comfortable) and they'll climb all over you and curl up in your comforter on your bed and stuff.
It's going to take time (many months) before your leo is completely used to you and friendly.
I'm considering a beardie (or uro) as well, but likely not for a year or two. Gotta graduate and get my own place first.
Be sure to check out the leo forum and read through the old posts. There's incredibly valuable info there that you won't find anywhere else.

>>im going to be living in dorm in jan .. i have a bird but they don't allow bird so i have to find a home for her .. but i got somebody lined up for her..
>>anyway they allow fishs and turtle, but i don't like to have fish cause they die on me no matter how well i take care of them and i can't stand the sight of dead fish, i guess it is a bit of a phobia i developed when i was a kid .. and seen a fish go belly up..
>>so they say i could have a lizard tho.. i like something that is a bit social and fun to be with... so i narrowed down my choice .. of either bearded dragon or leopard gecko.. i been reading like heck on both of them ..
