imports

bigdnutz Dec 05, 2003 01:10 PM

I have seen quite a few adds for boa imports. Of course they are inexpensive. I was considering getting one. Any first hand advice? I know I can expect parasites and aggresiveness but to what degree? Is it bearable, or worth the good deal?
Thanks

would be to get CB, whether they're adult or babies. CB boas are very cheap (common colombians) and then you don't have to worry about vet visits. JMHO

Parasites and aggression would be the least of your problems. Sometimes they can take a long time to ajust to captive life. Most of the time they shy away from food or will only eat at certain times of the day. I have an import in my collection and I have had her for over a year and befor that she was in another collection for a year and a half and she still is under weight and will only eat very small pery items but she is not aggresive at all just shy. Every few months she regurges her food between 3 and 5 days after eating so I was starting to think she does not like the fur of the rats so now I shave the rats befor feeding and I have not had any problems since. I have no problems taking care of her now but it took allot of time to figure her out.
