interesting note on chromatophores

booradley Dec 05, 2003 02:11 PM

Chromatophores are the cells in a chams skin which cause it to change color. I am a sophomore in college and gave a presentation to a cellular biology class on this topic. I used my male veiled as an example and got raves. You'd be surprised how many ppl have never even seen a cham in real life. Everyone was very interested, including a man with his doctorate in cellular biology. Pretty impressive for a lizard thats only a juvie!! LOL. Keep educating and good luck keeping your chams.

I bet some of us would be interested to read your paper. Chromatophores are neat things and chams are about the best example of them. I've taken some of my chams to various school classes and they are always a huge hit. Care to share?
