My turtle shoul be the next houdini, I havve a little kiddie pool outside for her to swim in with a basking spot and everything. the walls of the actual pool are abpout 10 inches high and she is only six inches in length so I figured there wouold be no problem as long as the rocks were not near the side right? but nope whe escaped and ran into the back yard, I only foundher because my white cat was following her with it's nose to the ground across the backyard. So i put up 5 more inches of cardboard around the walls of the tank, but then when I found her ruinning away again. so i watched her form inside the house to see how she was doing it. It seems she and my black lab are in league with eachother, the dog is jealouse and the turtle wants to go visit the pond down the road, cuz I coagh the dog picking up the turtle ever so gently in her mouth and dropping her off the side of the deck, then the turtle would make a break for the backyard! I guess I'll have to keep my lab and my turt seperated, they can't be trusted together!

i sent this one to everyone i know with dogs and turtles. reminds me of the guy who trained his dog to look for turtles. (he was a collector as a young man) several years later the dog, even in its old age, would go fetch turtles (his pets) from his yard and bring them in the house all the time.
