..the BP forum and read someone came real close to getting scammed...the 'scammer' sent the guy a cashiers check for $9,500, but it didnt clear..just wanted to warn you guys, if you are making any long distance sales make sure the check clears..

yeah, that's a known scam. A guy'll send you a check for the amount some thousands of dollars and ask you to cash it and send the extra to wherever. Then if you do it before the check clears, he's got the $$$ you sent and you're out of luck.

Yeah, it was a topic in here not too long ago. Basically, if someone wants an animal or two, they aren't going to send you thousands more than it's worth just to have you send it back to them....If you actually sent him the $ before the check cleared, your SOL with your bank and any check you may have written since.
Unbelievable what people will do to others just to get the all-mighty dollar!
