>>I have 4 juviniles that don't seem to be growing very fast. They are all Sept. hatchlings and only wiigh in at 11-15 grams.
I wouldn't be too worrried about that weight if they were eating more. Have you double-checked your environment? I mean, are the temps and everything correct? Are they housed individually or together? With any other herps? They'll have the best growth rates if raised alone, and should never be kept with other herps.
>>They really don't seem excited about eating, but they do eat a mealie and a few waxys every day. Should I worry about their weight, or do they spurt up at four months?
Different leos grow at different rates. Have you tried crickets with them? I wouldn't have started them on waxworms until they started eating a lot regularly, but if they're not eating many mealworms, try some crickets. Once they get more established, then switch back to mealworms. I always start my babies on 1/4 inch crickets until they start putting on weight because sometimes they really need the movement to excite them into hunting/eating. Once they're well established, I switch them over to mealies, but sometimes have to keep w/the crickets for a few more days/weeks and try the mealworms again later.
>>Also, do poeple really feed those "aliens" to their leos? YUCK!!!
No, I remove the 'aliens' and put them into the beetle drawer. I only feed the worms to my geckos.
Good luck
