travelling advice

I would just like to know what is the best way to transport my nearded dragon when flying. She will not be out of a tank for more than five hours...should I just place her in a well ventilated carrier? Will she be alright for that time? Or do I need some sort of heat during this time since I am travelling to NY which is pretty cold right now

If you could just tell me if I need to do anything special, I would really appreciate it. Thanks
-Alyssa

Not doing this anytime soon but we've got a bunch of animals that we'd like to transport across Canada to a new home but we're not sure how to do this....any good ideas???

It's no big deal really. Check with your airline first, but generally it's okay to take non-venomous reptile on airlines. Best bet would be to buy one of those styrofoam cooler boxes and a heat pad (i think either lllreptile.com or bigappleherp.com sell these shipping materials). Make sure not to feed your beardeds for a few days before so they dont have food sitting in their stomachs and don't defecate in the box.

One last note on snakes: I use to take my snakes together in one box all bagged individually. I had one bite through its bag and give one of the others a nasty bite, so I deli-cup them now.

Hope that helps. Have a good trip all!
