oh ok well that's good atleast you know what it is .... i was right to a point lol i got the white sided right lol just couldn't tell if it was a white sided black rat or some other type snake. good luck with your snake i am wanting to get a white sided black rat or something i think they are so awesome looking. that is my next buy a white sided snake of some kind ..lol

I agree, the white-sided black rats are awesome animals. I really like the black/white contrast, so to me they are even better than the albino white-sides (which seems kinda pointless actually) or other white-sides. BTW...congrats on your little Tex up above. How's it doin' in terms of disposition? Mine started out nippy, but is a real sweetheart now. Duffy

MY leucistic is doing awesome eats very well and is also nippy but with some time and handling i am sure she will calm down she is still young so i can understand the nippiness alot of ratsnakes i have had are alittle nippy from time to time....lol

If that's a gopher snake, I'll swim the English Channel. No way. It's 100% rat snake, probably a white-sided black rat. You can tell by the keeled scales, the scalation and shape of the head, the eyes, and the body. The only white-sided pituophis I know of is the white-sided bullsnake. No gophers, to my knowledge. In any case, that's an obsoleta animal you've got there, and a very nice one at that.
