i am just curious if anyone else is having trouble selling any animals. i have an ad posted and all i seem to be getting are people just kicking tires.

This is a tough market for unknowns - which comprise the majority of the market, BTW. People are very leary of all the scams that seem to be rampant in this industry. I have several hets from last season that are simply growing. I get some interest but like you put it, it seems that people are just "kicking tires". Also, IMHO, this industry is dominated by younger people who, while there intents might be honorable, their eyes are bigger than their pocket books 
This is a good and bad thing. I do this for fun, so it looks like many of the offspring I produce will go for a low price, especially since I'm so top-heavy on males

When you went shopping for your animals did YOU shop around? It is part of the business. If you asked me when I was in my twenties that I would plank down $25,000.00 for 2.2 het pieds ....I would have told you that you were nuts! lol We are not selling cute little puppies.

1.1 het yellow ghost
so i have spent some money, and yes i did shop around, but i had one guy offer me 300$ for my het pied female. i thought it was a typo but he was serious. i understand wanting to shop.i just have had emails with bogus offers. i love the hobby and find breeding facinating in fact i breed boston terriers just because i love the breed.i am just waiting for the serious hobbyist to send me an email.

A person can offer me anything they wish. Perhaps he might be fishing on what your bottom line is and how you would respond. Sales are not just ad and buy. Go to a car dealership and ask a salesman what it is like to sell a car!!!!!!! Not all sales are smoooooth! I have sat in my chair and watching TV and get an email from Pay pal telling me that I just sold some of my animals. There was no email asking or even a phone call. You never know in this business. You just have to be patient. Sometimes it is slow and sometimes I have trouble keeping up on emails.
