I had the same problem. 2000 chirping crickets in the living room. I have them in a rubbermaid and put the lid on at night which helps.
I am switching over to roaches shortly so i never have to deal with it..
i actually like the sound, reminds me of one of my favorite spots! my wife and sisiter-in-law hate it, but....too bad so sad!
then again i also like the smell of skunk! lol
dennis
All i can say is you've got issues lol..
Can't wait for those roaches to arrive and start breeding..
I agree.... You have issues.

i am confused???
What Tyler is saying:
Your parents probably couldn't identify a roach if they saw one. So, if you call them beetles, your parents may not put up any fight.
There is a taboo with roaches.
I don't suggest lying.. but if you don't say too much you may get away with it.

Hi-
Just thought I would point out that just because he can eat adults doesn't mean you have to feed adults! At that age eating adult crickets I would keep a close eye out for any MBD issues from rapid growth. Hope this helps!
P.S-
I to did not like the sound of crickets, after a few months you get use to the noise and just block it out!

can u explain further john.... i only bought one batch of larger crickets cuz the order was placed wrong.....
!!!
i have had crickets for years and despise them every second
Hi-
I to were in your shoes way back when. I thought I ordered one size of crickets (3 week olds) and received adult (5 week olds). Well ever since then I have learned to deal with the sound, and it doesn't bother me where I loose sleep over it. That one mistake on my part turned into a who new thing. I new I just spent $20 on crickets that were only going to last for another 2 weeks give or take. So I started breeding them, ever since then I have bred my own supply of crickets and you know what that means, now I have even more crickets in my house and even more noise.
On the baby veiled eating adults, I say watch out for MBD because of rapid growth related with weaker bones not able to keep up. More smaller pray fed will give the chameleon more gutload and dust rather then only a few adults. Also with smaller crickets they are allot softer, unlike the adults with their hard legs. 3-4 week old crickets are a good choice when buying bulk, they keep longer then adults! Hope this helps!

plus they dont smell as horrid......
I have been off crickets for a few months now. I don't miss the smell.. I don't miss the noise.. I don't miss the mess..
I never really minded the chirping. only when an escapee would find his way into my sleeping quarters and chirp as loud as he could.
Listening to a chorus of chirping crickets could put me to sleep. Listening to one annoying cricket would make me rip the baseboards off to get him
