michiel1981 Dec 06, 2003 12:19 PM

Ok i dont know the right name for it so i call it a heating blanket... it says i have to stick it under my terrarium... ok
But is it also possible to let the snake lay on it directly?

Follow the instructions. Most of the ones you buy in the petstores get too hot to let the snake contact it directly.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?

what are you using for a substrate?is it warm on the underside of the heater?(below the cage)too thick a substrate can keep the heat from reaching the surface.with a glass cage,if it gets too hot,the glass could break.

Have you actually measured the temp w/ a reliable thermometer? My experience with the under the tank heaters is that it may not feel warm, but your thermometer will proof it to be hotter than you think.
