Black tail cribos (Drymarchon corais melanurus)have probably the largest range of any of the Drymarchon.
They range from southern Mexico...through all the Central American countries...into South America (parts Columbia and Venesula) then west of the Andes in coastal S. America down through Argentina.
HUGE range. They integrade with erebennus, rubidus, orizabensis
an unicolor in various parts of thier range.
Last time I was there, Argentina was on the East side of the Andes Mtns!!!

oops...correct, thanks CG.
Maybe WW can help better than me here as far as the range in SA,
But I believe that they do occur west of the andes in Northern s american, AND east of the andes in southern s america.
in contrast, the yt cribo does not occur west of the andes.
The yt seems to prefer hotter, lowland habitat, while the bt prefers cooler, higher elevations.
All this info is from WW's personal communication to me, by the way. He's the expert on Cribos in SA...not me!
