Aimee.a I got my new leo

Gilbery007 Dec 06, 2003 02:43 PM

Hi all u may remember me saying i was going to get 2 baby female leo's.Well that didnt work out but i ended up getting a sub adult male. He seems very happy in his new home, i paid 55 pounds for him is that good or bad? he is also a normal phase. He seems to spend a lot of time just hiding in his warm moist hide it is a black sandwich box. He hardly ever goes into his cool hides, is that normal. He is eating fine he had 14 crickets the day after i got him in about 15 mins. 2 nite he had 8 so i'll put in a few more before i got to bed. I've got him in my room where i spend alot of time and i have a bedside lamp could this be the reason why he stays in his warm hide all the time because he wants to sleep etc or thinks its day time??? I've handled him a few times but he gets really squrimy so i then put him back, do they always do that or was he pissed at me for taking him out??? Ne help to my questions will be appreciated Thankyou all. I will get some pics of him soon when i get my canm working again.Gilbery007

Hi

Congrats on your new leo!! I'm not sure how much 55 pounds is in US dollars :x hehe~ but that's cool you got a normal sub-adult, i can't wait to see a picture!!!

And it's alright for him to be going into his humid hide - it seems that a lot of leos like their humid hides He's also trying to get used to his new house, so nothing to worry about. He's probably a little skittish because everything's soooo new to him - but after a little time he'll be alright - just play with him for a little bit He shouldn't be mad if you pull him out of his tank for some exercise... just make sure you catch him by surprise by lifting him up... let him crawl on you, or if he's standing & leaning on something, you can scoop him up! If you take off his hide and pull him out - that's when you MIGHT piss them off - they can get stressed that way But, your leo should be good!

He also sounds like he's eating a lot! He must be pretty healthy!! Now I really want to see a pic! Also, if it's night time and your lamp is on, it shouldn't really bother him too much - I handle my leo with my bedroom ceiling light on and she doesn't seem to be effected by it have fun and don't forget the pix! Take care!
