jewled curly tailed lizards

dynomite Dec 06, 2003 05:54 PM

is it possible to house jewled curly tailed lizards outside with not supplemental heating? im in san diego, kinda inland and i think it would be pretty cool to put mine outside, i thik he would enjoy it more and since from the little that i know they come from semi-arid environments i should think the temps to be pretty similar to here.... but since there is a decent possibility that i am wrong i would like to get some of your input and wisdom before i do anything.
thanks

jeweled curly tails live in the carribean so im sure the temperatures would be somewhat similiar. id still have to say it would be a bad idea because of the unpredictability of outside tempereatures. an unusual coldsnap may be enough to kill it, also prolonged direct sunlight may heat the terrarium to well over a hundred degrees and also be the death of it. so DONT DO IT@!!!
