i bought a pre-formed pond from lowes. 50 gals like 80 bucks. i was looking at stock tanks but they are reeally large usually and shipping really killed their value over a pre-formed.

do a yahoo seach on strock tanks and there are NUMEROUS sights that sell them and give prices

Check into your local farm supply stores they all carry them. I have several for my troop. An 8'er, 2 1/2' deep is around $200 a 10;er, 2 1/2' deep is around $300.

I have a 110 gal right now, it cost about 60 bucks at my local farmers co-op. I am constructing a larger enclosure this winter as my gators sleep. I am purchasing a 1000 gal trough as soon as I finish the concrete block wall construction, I have ordered it and the price delivered to my house from the co-op is 329.00 plus 15.00 delivery fee. My gators went to sleep last month in a small 15x10 pen in a 110 gal water enclosure, when they wake up around april they will be in a 30x30 walled enclosure with a 1000 gal water area! Wont they be surprised! Check the local farmers co-op they have decent prices. I have also heard about the use of a clay material called benzonite or something. Appearantly you just dig a hole as big as you like and pour this stuff all over the inside of it...it is some type of clay that well diggers use. I was going to look into using this stuff but I cannot find any info on wether or not it is toxic to gators. My assumption is that it is not since it is used in drinking water wells here in the south, but I am reluctant to use it without good solid evidence that it is safe to gators. Anybody here ever used it or heard of it? The co-op here sells it for 5 bucks per 50 lb sack, much cheaper that a water trough...but...I love my gators and want them to be safe. Anybody have experience with this stuff?
