but he will most likely hear that he did all he could, and they are such fragile creatures
and such other balderdash (can you tell I have been watching BattleStar all weekend)
Thanks for all you did do

i really dont understand how you could even compare a MHD to a uromastyx,im my opinion dragons are way harder to care for as not to many people have dealt with them and care sheets besides marcia's are hard to find.i've had two dragons and both have died from one reason or another, they both died within a month and other people here have lost their dragons for no reason as well.

i have a mali uromastyx and he's super easy to care for as long as you get his temps correct(120F)and his feeding right.

here's him showing his happy face

I M sorry if I was not clear
I M not saying that they are easy or hard to care for
they are like kids, if you do it right they thrive, if not they just slowly waste away
and as they cannot tell us what is wrong, we have to guess
When we get them we do not know how well, or poorly they have been cared for
Sorry if I seemed to have implied anything wrong

I was just speculating what the young man in question will hear from people when he says that his dragon died
that is all

It is sad to hear of another MHD lost due to neglect. I know where you all are coming from. I do agree that the MHD is more fragile than the uromastyx. On the other hand, I think the uromastix is a lot more work to care for.

The MHD is more fragile if conditions are not correct and is less hardy if illness is not tended to promptly. But, the MHD eats insects that you toss at it, well not at it

I did have a pair of malis for a while and although I loved them dearly it was really time consuming to make their salads every day. And then, I had to clean the darned stuff out of the substrate later in the day after they had trampled and tossed it! Fool things are such characters, I often found them wearing their greens!

If this kid couldn't get vet care to save his MHD and didn't keep it's cage correctly he likely would forget to feed a uromastyx and can you imagine the results if he didn't clean the cage and the veggies were left to rot?

I think this is a kid who needs to learn a lot more before he tackles anything other than a traditional pet. With education perhaps he could still be a good herper in time.

Just my opinion!
