How long till i should move?

I currently have 1 CB baby mali which is about 4-5 inches long in a 20 long tank. I was wondering when i should be getting a larger/permanent house for it. Id like to know so i can keep it in the back of my mind and to know when to start building his tank out. Thanx alot
