guttata guttata x spiloides?

Found this little guy in a developing neigborhood. I'v seen a bunch of corns here on the panhandel(12 to be exact) in the last year, and two gray rats. NONE of the corns have been this dark or this gray. What do you think? Hope the pic works.-smokey

From the two pics you posted I didn't see much more difference than I'd expect from a single clutch of corns. Addmittedly though I was doing a little "mental" correction of the color as the two photos looked to have been done in significantly different light.

Yeah, I'm not to good with taking photos, but can asuer you that these two snakes do indeed look quite different. I have many more photos if you would like to see them, but I know this isn't a "hot topic". Though if you are indeed interested then email me and I can send them to you. Like I said earlyer, 11 of the corns found were stuning wc individuals very similar to the more redish corn pictered. The grayish one was the only one found. Thanks-Smokey

While it could have traces of Grey Rat Snake in it's lineage, it looks like a regular Corn snake to me. I've see Grey Rat/Corn crosses before and they look a bit more like a grey rat snake than that.

Thanks for the reply. You’re probably right. I just moved to the panhandle last year. From all the literature, I see many color variants. Just didn't know that they occurred within such close proximity. Though I’ve personally seen cal x honder hatchlings that were almost identical to a cal king. Yet others resembled Hondurans. Still I think you might be right. Thanks again-Smokey
