Egyptian's, what are they selling for these days?

PiedPeddler Dec 07, 2003 12:09 AM

I live in the Phx, AZ area and got 2 hatchling Egyptian Uro's a few years ago to put in my outdoor enclosure. They were so tame and personable inside, but dug burrows, didn't feed well, and dived for cover as soon as they saw you outside. So I moved them back inside into a cage much too small. I don't have the time or space to build them a larger indoor cage and I am considering selling them. Our local reptile dealer says he has a customer looking for some, but won't make me an offer. He wants me to offer up the price. I paid a lot for them and have seen prices fluctuate dramatically since I got them. I checked KS Classifieds and didn't see any for sale. One slows down and goes off feed in the winter, it only weighs 130g. The other feeds most of the winter and weighs 200g. Any suggestions for a fair price to ask for these will be appreciated. Thanks.

Egyptians
Usually depend on the condition and health of course go around $200.
200 and 130 grams for a few year old hatchling is kinda small they should be somewhat larger(heavier)
Just a guide.
Not saying this is a rule.
Just post pictures and be as informative and truthful as possible when posting your animals.
Good luck,
Ed

They have what they need for survival such as UV, Thermal gradient up to 115 for basking, and cool hide spot. Hardly any room to move around though so I'm sure that effects their appetite. As I said the small one goes off feed for about 4 months and loses weight over the winter. It takes him awhile to get back up to his weight from the previous year, from there, gains are slow. They had pinworms from being outside, but that is resolved now. They will be brought in to the reptile store, no pictures, they'll see what they're getting. I was just looking for a good baseline price. Since I'm selling them to a dealer, I expect to get about half what the market price is.
Thanks for your response.
