This 8ft female suddenly decided she would huff and puff after her cage was cleaned. She was calm until the last hide was being placed back in with her.

What a great shot! I love the Beauty snakes but fear the aggressivness. Especially from an 8 footer. Sill love seeing pics though, thanks for posting on the forums. Tom
I would much rather get bitten by an 8ft. Blue then and 8ft burm or boa. I just turned my pair into a trio this summer, and as far as aggression goes, I've been bitten by my american ratsnakes more than and of my blues combined, and includes my cornsnakes! Maybe I just click with them or something, I don't know, but all of my asian ratsnakes, with exception(of course) for my G. oxcephala and my G. janseni, which I think should both be renamed G. bastardi for obvious reasons.

I hear mixed reviews about the Beauty snakes, but I have a feeling sooner or later I will get some. I too have been bit by my Corns[who are rated most docile by most people]. It's just the size of these guys that intimidates me. I actually have several Pits and many people swear they're nasty but mine sometimes huff n puff but I have only been bit a few times in a few years. Mine usually act up after I put them back in thier tanks, which in a way is cool because it looks impressive but they are almost always bluffing and never even strike. For now please keep the pics coming, they're some of the coolest looking snakes out there. Tom
i have dealt with numerous asian rats, most of them are pretty docile but can get quite fired up. My female albino chinese stays angry 24/7 though.

very pretty snake!i love the subtle colors & multiple pattern on these animals.1 just aquired a wee little pair of taiwans.he is calm she is er,not.again very nice!
Does she always have to have the last word? LOL. She's a pretty blue. I can't let my little yearling see her. He has a ways to go. Blue beauties are my favorite beauty, but did tell any one. LOL Here's my little blue male yearling.

She is not usually like that. Every so often most of the taeniura will see something that will set them off and you often wont know what it was. It's not ever when I'm holding them and it's mostly for show. I never get bitten by my adults and handle them all.
Terry thats a nice looking yearling. It should be a awesome adult.

Thanks for the comment Randy. I think the beauties get a bad rap on the aggresive thing. Even cornsnakes will bite and they don't get tagged with being agressive. None of my beauties have bitten me yet. They can act up, but leave them alone when they are mad about something.

Is that one of the trio you recently picked up Don? She is really nice. I can't let my male yearling see her pic. LOL.

Thank guys she does have some nice color. The male was the bluest of the trio. Unfortunatly he escaped soon after I got the trio. Still no sign of him. I am bummed. I am hopeing he shows up. If he doesn't I will either buy a male or trade one of the females for one. I don't plan on keeping both females anyway. We have torn the house apart and can't find him.

Thanks Don. She is really nice as Terry said. Her color is excellent especially to only be a yearling blue. Randy W.
