It is a simple recessive genetic mutation (one gene). Therefore, it's not a combo of different corn morphs that will produce a hypo corn UNLESS both parents are heterozygous for the hypo trait. Otherwise, only two hypo parents will produce hypo offspring.

(in other words, its not like a ghost or snow corn)

Hypomelanistic is reduced black. All other colors appear as normal just little or no black. Many websites have pics of hypo corns BUT keep in mind that they vary a great deal. I have a beautiful hypo female that is not very bright but has more black than other hypos. Meanwhile, my friend has a hypo with the brightest oranges/reds I've ever seen and it has NO black whatsoever.

There are also two different forms of hypo that are incompatible BUT they are indistinguishable (you simply can not tell them apart).
