Nose rubbing (advice needed)

Antegy Dec 07, 2003 02:00 PM

Hello all,

I have a 10' labyrinth burm who for the past month or so has been rubbing the glass door of his cage incessantly. He is in a Vision cage - the biggest one they offer. I keep it meticulously clean, and he's well fed (but not overfed). Lately I have noticed that his nose is beginning to look a little beat-up; and I can imagine that it doesn't feel very good for him. Beside that I'm guessing that he is stressing in some way which is making him do this in the first place.

Anyone have any advice on why he may be doing this - and also what I can do to help keep him from rubbing.

Any feedback is appreciated,
Thanks,
- Mark

Just feed him a really big meal, less frequently. Whenever I get a restless snake, male or female, I just give them a huge meal. Ths always sends them into a deep slumber to digest it. If they don't have an appetite I let them breed if it is breeding season. Since it is breeding season try this if he doesn't want to eat a large meal. Even if it is an immature female or an already bred female. Just something for him to divert his attention to.
