Need Help With Prolapse!

OneTwoManyHerps Jun 02, 2003 03:50 PM

Any tips, pointers, treatments, suggestions, and/or stories of the topic would be GREAT. Just tell me what I need to do to solve the problem. Thanks!

NOW!!!

Otherwise you are looking at a potentially fatal problem.

Don't get freaked out by any alarmist replies. I never had to take a leo to the vet for a prolapse. When did you notice it and how long do you think it was like that. If it is crusted up with substrate, you will have to bath the leo in warm water. Keep him by himself in a shoebox size container with a moistened papertowel. Try to keep "the thing" moist. If it does not right itself in the next couple days, you will have to consider a vet. If a vet cannot tease it back in, they will have to amputate the appendage.
Good Luck

Bill, he posted yesterday about this... and he did not indicate in this latest post that he took any advice for dealing with this, 24 hours ago.

If he is going to sit here continually asking for advice because he doesn't want to spend the money on a vet bill, while not actually taking ANY action, frankly I am worried about the animal.

No problem, I understand where you're coming from also!

Note too, he says this is a female (in the previous thread)... If that's the case then I'd be much more worried in regards to what exactly is protruding and what the cause is!
