Fire skink breeding projects

jlebrae Dec 07, 2003 05:39 PM

I can't believe with how beautiful fire skinks are, nobody tries to publicly breed them. Has anyone heard of this before, or know anyone who has bred them in the past? What about color morphs?

I breed them, they're great fun. The trouble is that WC's can be obtained so cheaply, that nobody wants to bother breeding them or paying a higher price for a healthy specimen.

No particular morph variations exist that I know of. There are some individuals that exhibit brighter colors than others. Someone posted a pic of their male on this forum a while back and it was the most spectacularly red specimen I've ever seen.

That's what I figured, though they're not too common at the places I go to. When I do see them, they're $30, and there's no doubt in my mind that they're WC.
You breed them? That's awesome. I'd like to learn more about that and possibly look into doing the same in the future.
