Pac man substrates

SlickAle Dec 07, 2003 06:14 PM

I've been seeing a lot of people put no substrate for their pac man frogs and just water up to their bottom lips, so I've begun to do that. My frog didn't eat at all before this (bed a beast), but now he eats perfectly, whatever he could catch in the water. It's also so much easier to change this way.

Now, can anyone tell me if there's any reason other than stress, since I doubt my frog is in stress since he's eating well, that I should change back?

I was wondering that myself. There is a herp shop where I live and the guy only has his pacmans in the water up to their "waist" and he says they are doing perfectly fine. Yeah it would be easier to just change their water every day but I wouldnt think that it would be good for them, or at least not better than good old substrate. I think that the stores do it because of its low maintenance and they want to get by with whatever they can.
