Crypto is a disease caused by a protozoan parasite infection. Some of it's symptoms are lethargy, vomiting, runny stools, and severe weight loss. I bought two baby leos from a pet store that had crypto; I had never seen a baby gecko before, and believed the pet store owner that they were thin because they were young until I got them home and got a good look at them.

It's really hard to tell when a gecko has crypto. My babies had about five fecal smears and it never showed up-- I only found out after one died and an autopsy was performed. It's hard to diagnose, but basically, if fecal exams are coming back negative but symptoms persist, it's time to get suspicious.

Unfortunately, crypto is very very contagious and also it has yet to be successfully treated-- I had to put my other baby down.
Just hope your leos never get it, and be sure to quarantine your animals and practice good hygeine! More than likely the pet store I bought them from is now full of animals with crypto, and I'm currently blowing the whistle on him trying to get the shop shut down.
