Can i house a mali with a bearded dragon?The cage is 3'long x 19" wide x 1' tall.
Personally, I wouldn't because they have different temperature requirements. Beardies up to 110 degrees and Mali's up to 120 - 125. Uros require a hotter basking area. To have the healthiest reptiles, I would house them separately. That way they don't share parasites. In a uro, there could be a parasite that is beneficial to its system and in a beardie it could be deadly or cause it to get very ill. I remember reading something about that but I can't remember where I read it. I would rather be safe than sorry.

Beautiful Dragons
Its never recommended to house herps together.
It could be done but it complicates things allot and if you arent very experienced the herps could suffer.

I thought my bearded dragon mite like the company.
As the same question in the bearded dragon forum. You'll get your answer pretty quickly: "No."
The experienced breeders there will tell you that there are often problems housing multiple beardies together. Just imagine how complicated things would be with another species!
Besides that, the higher temps can burn the beardies. Definitely not a good idea.
Beardies, like most lizards, prefer the solo lifestyle.

Okay. First off: Beardies do like being housed together as youngsters. Once they get older, males become solitary and some females do as well. My beardies are boused just fine as a pair. They enjoy the company.
Nah,
He will probably only enjoy (if its a he) if you introduce a female beardie for breeding season, he probably wouldnt like to be housed even with her full time. Most herps are solitary animals and only come together for mating.
There are a bunch of reasons I can think of why housing two different species like those (although similar might cause a problem) if it doesnt its an exception.
I think for one they would need ALLOT more space and ALLOT more habitat control and variation, and I mean ALLOT of both.
If youre doing it for the dragon or uro, most likely they wont appreciate it.
If you still want to do it tough do allot of research and I mean allotremember you gotta provide both appropriate habitats heating lighting diets and who know what else in one cage AND make sure dominance is not an issue and one might not carry some parasite the other is more sensitive too.
Think about it, if you really want too dont do it yet, wait, keep them happy separate, learn and later come back to the thought.
Best of luck

You really shouldn't house two different species together, some people that are very experienced and know all the tricks of the trade do, but personally I prefer not to. First off, Bearded Dragons come from Australia a totally different place than Africa where Uros are from. I do believe that most Beardeds carry a disease that is beneficial to them called coccodia (sp?) which can prove to be deadly to Uromastyx.
You didn't mention the sex of the animals but if both are male then definantly cannot house them together also males of either species might turn aggresive to a female of the other specie. If you sincerely insist that they be housed together, it would be best if they are both female.
All in all, it is not a very smart idea unless you are extremely experienced and even then it would be less stressful for both animals and yourself if they are housed seperately.
