I got 2 leos on wed and i came on to ask if it was bad they were spending all their time on the cool end of the tank. My temps range from 88-76. Not sure if this was bad but i removed their cool hide and they are now on the warm side of tank where they should be. Ever since i did that (yesterday) they have each had 3 bowel movements but still are not eating. Is it possible to continue having these bowel movements when they havent eaten since wed? I keep a dish of mealies in their tank at all times and offer small crix at night. I end up having to remove the crix. They often go to mealie dish and stare em down as if they will pounce but then they just walk away. I have tried dangling them in front of their faces but still no go.

Their having had three bowel movements since moving to the warm side implies that they had food in their belly that wasn't digesting on the cool side. That's why belly heat is so important for leopard geckos. Even though it sounds odd, I think you made the right move by removing the hide from the cool side (at least for now). I remember you said the two sides were the same, but could there have been more noise and light on one side?

Sounds like you're getting them back on track.

Good luck with them!
