Which one do you think?

Although I know questions along this line get asked alot, well, heres another one.

I've been researching digital cameras within my price range and have had both the Canon PowerShot A60 and Fujiflim FinePix A210 recommended to me. So basically i'm looking for a $300 (canadian dollars) Camera with a good optical zoom.

Which of these cameras would you vote for based on experience? Does anyone have photos taken with either of these? Any other cameras in this class also worth consideration?

My one specification is good clean, detailed closeups for the purpose of photographing peices or art and small herps,

Thanks

Although Fuji makes a fine camera, I'm definately partial to the canon series. If you have $300 to spend however, I'd definately go with the A70 over the A60. Check pricegrabber.com and run a check on the A70, several places should have it around the price you mentioned. I personally use a Canon G3. I just bought the wife an A80 for christmas. If you want to research yourself, go to www.dpreview.com and look at their reviews on each camera. I think you will find, Canon's are usually hard to beat. I'm buying a Canon 10D after Christmas when I recover from Christmas spending if my wife doesn't get it for me for Christmas.
