I purchased a surinam. The man who sold my husband the snake said that she may be gravid but was not sure. Two other snake breeders that were at the Bob Clark expo said she was gravid.
Is there any thing to look for or feel to tell if she is?
I would like be a little more sure about it before I take her for a sonagram.
Buy the way, she should be due in about 45 days.

How do you know she has 45 days left? If it is from POS then they must have seen it witch would make me question why they sold it. I personally would have kept the snake if I saw ovulation unless the price was right but then having baby boas is more fun than money. If she is gravid make sure you keep her warm and post some pictures of her. Sometimes it is hard to tell if a female is gravid just by looking at it unless you have had the snake for a while then you might be able to tell if she looks a little larger than normal.

The man I got her from was his wife's pet, she only about 96 lbs, so the snake was getting to large for her to handle.
So he bought his wife a pair of albino balls, "to play with".
He works with alot of the high $$ snakes, so it was nothing to him to sell a gravid female
But when she is ready, will the babies drop down closer to the tail?
