This is one of the Sierra Garter snakes that me and my kids caught this fall. We where at 5000ft elevation and all where next to streams (3 total). Does anyone work with these garters?

i have a garter pretty similar to this, just the top half is a lighter shade of brown. I identified it as an eastern though. Not sure if this helps you.
I've kept these, and as you probably know, because it is an elegans, they will eat anything. I caught some babies years ago around 7,000 to 8,000 feet.
