Nile crocodile from Madagascar

hilo Dec 08, 2003 12:22 AM

What's the average adult size of the Niles from Madagascar? Are they considered one of the dwarf Nile crocodiles? I have searched the internet for over a week now and found nothing on the Nile sp. from Madagascar. I know they've been around for awhile but haven't heard anything. About 4 years ago a local pet shop had quite a few and sold all of them. Where are they all at? I know that a high percent probable didn't make it but what about the others. I only see pics of hatchlings and yearlings. Can someone shed some light on the subject or point in the right direction. I need more info.
Thanks

They can get just a big as the others when fed and maintained well. Genetically they are all Nile crocodile.

After WERMUTH & FUCHS, C.niloticus madagascariensis reaches mostly 4,5 m.
