I can't speak for Trans-Pecos but Everglades love to climb. Here's 3 yearlings in their grapevine at my place.

Since you have an Everglades, can you give me an idea of how much an adult might weigh? I've never really seen a ratsnake - I'm assuming they are not as 'thick' as Ball Pythons? Finally, what humidity should they be kept at?

Thanks again!

I've never weighed any of my snakes. Adult Glades are typically about 5 feet but thy can get up to 7 feet. Their girth is maybe half that as a ball python. Ikeep the warm end of the cage around 83-85 degrees and the cool end is about 75. They seem tolerate household humidity just fine, in my experience, but I mist the cage about twice a week anyway to boost it a little. Mine are all very docile snakes but they are handled regularly. Terry Parks has one that is a little more high strung. Like most snakes, some are feistier than others but most will calm down with regular handling.
what else can I tell you?

You really have some great everglades Mark. I see you mentioned my high strung male everglades. I will say he is the exception, not the rule. I felt compelled to mention him as there are exceptions to the rule in every species that people sometimes don't want to hear when they are buying or looking to buy a certain species. I love the male everglades as much as any snake I have, he just has this attitude which may have come from a previous owner since he came to me as an adult. He is calming down and will take some time, but I never hesitate to hold him. I just can't reach right in and pick him up. Nice pic Mark and thanks for posting. I hope I get a clutch from my female this year. It will be her first.

Trans-Pecos Rats do climb. They are often found climbing rock faces/road cuts in west Texas on summer nights.

An adult pair of Everglades I used to have weighed about 800 grams each. They were not a particularly large pair, so I imagine a big one could top 1 Kg.
