Houdini and Maya are doing great. These are two Saharan Uro's that I picked up from Doug Dix at Deer Fern Farms. For those of you that remember my post two months or so ago, this is Maya #2 because the previous Maya died of a respiratory infection. I had to exchange her and she died 2 days later in Doug's care. After the necropsy was done, they found aspirated water in her lungs. Probably from the bath water being too deep. So please be careful when bathing your uro. The water should be shallow. Ok, now for the photos.

Here is a photo of Houdini (left) and Maya taking a bath (in shallow water)...

And here is a photo of Houdini hiding. I think they have started to brumate because they only come out for an hour or two each day to eat a little, then they go back to sleeping.

And here's a photo of Houdini just being himself.

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!

Jack,
Houdini is around 85 grams and Maya just reached 100 grams. They are still rather small yet. Thanks for the kind words on the uros's and the website.

They're just the cutest! How is Maya's lip doing? She was the one who had the banged spot, right?

Thanks sweetie! I've got to get over to your place soon and see your gang! Maya's mouth healed up suprisingly fast. After a few days of putting Neosporin on it she was healed. Talk to you soon!
