Leaving home for holidays help?

freezermink Dec 08, 2003 04:05 PM

so i just got my first corn snake a month ago. i'm absolutely a fanatic now. i've never seen such cool orange and yellow colors on a snake before. i can't get enough of him (or her). i'll post pics up after christmas (i'm expecting a nice digital camera. heh.) anyway, i just moved out to the west coast, and for the holidays we're flying back to the east coast for a couple weeks. i'm wondering if there is anything special i should do to ensure my snakes health. it should be plenty warm; we share the heat with our elderly landlords in the house above us, and its always at least 75 degrees in here, and i have a heat pad under half of the tank. also i'll be sure to feed him well and change the water before we leave. anything i'm missing? i'd love some feedback to make sure i'm doing things right. i'd hate to come back to a disaster. thanks-

just give him a second water bowl in case he messes the first one up.......

no problems letting him go 3 weeks if all was well to begin with (fat enough)

I agree. He should be fine if he's currently in good shape. That's one of the cool things about snakes. You can go away for a week or two, and they are AOK when you get back. Good luck and Happy Holidays. Duffy
