No,
unfortunately not...
Would love to keep venomous athropods thoug, but my girlfriend thinks they're all "creepy"
((and that from the woman who payd for all of my snakes
)
Cheers,
Peter
I just happen to have a metallic pink toe, because I thought I needed another pet with fur. His name is Incitatus and he doesn't bite yet.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
I keep a number of medically significant scorpions, such as Androctonus, Parabuthus, etc....
Right now, my entire "venomous collection" is in the consideration phase. I was seriously considering getting a rock rattlesnake this spring, and started dating someone at work. Now I'm getting her used to my pythons and getting her "ready" for venomous as well-I feel ready but if someone else is coming into consideration they're going to be ready first as well. The way my luck works, she'd be the one to get bit and I'd have to live with it.

You made it sound like she is sort of afriad of snakes... If so, I don't see her jumping into rattlers. If proper protocol were being followed, the type of thing you just said shouldn't really be an issue. You'd be putting yourself at risk, sure... but a visitor to your house? If you've got this much doubt right now, maybe you should take the time you're giving yourself to rethink things a bit. Am I way off here?
Dave
No, I wouldn't say you were way off, but maybe a bit. She's not "afraid" of snakes, but has rather never been around them before, other than native colubrids in the yard. However, I am one of those who thinks of "worst case" before it happens-a What If, you know? I got to thinking, WHAT IF there was an escape-I know, it should never happen, but it does. I think that everybody here would agree that if this were to happen it's a safer situation if all the adults in the household know how to handle the animal in question instead of just one. You never know who finds the missing animal, and whether someone gets hurt or not, nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes.
Just a beautiful Rosehair Tarantula I've had for a few years now. Not really venomous though. Couldn't make her bite you anyway.
