First off, and being a newbie myself, I've found most people here prefer you to find answers to basic questions by looking into past forums or researching first. There are tons of awesome sites with ball python care info and I was recommended and read the "Ball Python Manual." Fills you in on everything basic. But I needed to hear it for myself from experienced owners anyway. With my beginner status in mind, here goes. Adults typically range anywhere from 4-6 ft and about a coke can width in diameter, typically on the smaller side though. Females are usually larger than males. They grow about a foot a year for the first three and then slow down, but never completely stop growing. As far as tank size goes, they don't need alot of space. A 30 gallon tank is probably sufficient for an adult. I read somewhere that it should be at least 2/3 the length of their body in length and 1/3 in width. They are not typically an aborreal species so height isn't really an issue. Though my baby is always exploring and on the branches in the evenings. As for pics, take a look around this forum, they're awesome!!! Good luck with your snake!
