White Eye

Jayde Dec 08, 2003 10:01 PM

Recently my leopard's eye was looking funny, I thought maybe it was just shed so I used a wet q-tip and gently swabbed it. When she opened it the whole eye is white and I believe that she's gone blind in that eye. The other is fine. She lives in her tank with another female. That one is fine. They've been together for about 3 years on paper towels, with a humid hut and everything. I've never had any problems before and doubt we have mites since we raise our own mealworms. I'm thinking she was shedding and either scratched her eye on a rock, or the other female scratched her.

Is there any thing I can do for her, or is this a permanent thing? If she IS blind in that eye, we can deal with that. I've always hand-fed her, she never took to bowl eating like the other one. And she can see fine out of the other eye. I believe she's around 4 years old.

I would go to the vet. One of my geckos got a little tiny cactus prick in her eye, and I'm sure she is blind in that eye. She has a scar over the pupil, and it has darkened up a little bit. So, if it was from rubbing on a rock, I don't get why it's white. Just have a vet check it.

Well sit right down my wicked son
And let me tell you a story
About the boy who fell from glory
And how he was a wicked son

This ain't no holiday
But it always turns out this way
Here I am with my hand

He took his sister from his head
And then painted her on the sheets
And then rolled her up in grass and trees
And they kissed 'till they were dead

This ain't no holiday
But it always turns out this way
Here I am, with my hand

Well sit right down my evil son
And let me tell you a story
About the boy who fell from glory
And how he was a wicked son

This ain't no holiday
But it always turns out this way
Here I am, with my hand

This ain't no holiday
But it always turns out this way
Here I am, with my hand

Sounds like an eye infection or a cataract, though if its the whole eye evenly id lean towards infection. See your vet. Good luck!
