Hibernation..

Is it a big deal if your tegu doesn't hibernate? I'm assuming they don't do it at different times of the year. And currently, my formally 15 1/4th inch Tegu (Until he dropped his damn tail. That bugs me. But I swear he's gotten bigger already) hasn't made any indication that he wants to.

Maybe he's just going to do it late.

Opinions?

if they dont feel a drop in temperatures. they wont hibernate. if you want him for breeding. shorten the time his lights are on and drop temps in his cage. if he doesnt hibernate its not a big deal. Taz is 3˝yrs. he hibernated his first winter and is hibernating right now. the winters inbetween that he hasnt hibernated. but since he hasnt hibernated every year, he wont breed. so they dont have to do it. it wont affect there health at all.
