omg, GREEN POOP!!

xelda Dec 09, 2003 01:08 AM

Has anyone seen anything like this before? There's no brown in it whatsoever!

I think it belongs to Rosie. She had the heaviest load of hookworms, and she hasn't been interested in eating. I suspect it's the medicine that caused this green stuff to occur. Her behavior doesn't seem to show that she's in any pain or discomfort.

I'm going to take her to a vet--a different one that someone recommended to me at a show. Should I consider this an emergency or can I wait to set an appointment?

and here's a recent picture of her:

Haha, thanks for the support, Aimee. I hope it turns out not to be too serious. I've got finals coming up.

I hope nothing is wrong. Lastnight I noticed that one of my females had that also (not as bad) but she had the normal urate and a little of brown but at the end had some green. i've looked everywhere about it and one of the books I have says that green feces is a bad sign. So Im looking for a better vet to give me some answers too. I have here with my two other females. They are doing great one is eating slkworms like no ones business and the other is a cricket pig (Shes preg.) just daisy doesnt have an appetite at all.

Im so nervous now.

It happened to my snake that hasn't been eating too. The green color is normally there in their poop but because they aren't eating then it is not covered up by the brown color of the feces. I believe the green is caused by the pigment of a liver enzyme.

I've heard the same thing about green poop... I beleive the geen color comes from the bile?

Let us know if you find out anything.
