Let me tell you all about a little story ....

Da Truth Dec 09, 2003 11:20 AM

There once was a boy in florida, who on an impulse bought some ackies. Realizing he was in over his head, he wanted to sell them. I came across this, and offered to purchase them. The deal was agreed apon, and all seemed well.

Now here comes the conflict. They arived today, which they were suposed to. However, they were supposed to arrive alive, and would have, if the ignorant SOB would have used styrofoam instead of MUTHA F------ NEWSPAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I live in Philadelphia, BTW. I told him to ship with a styrofoam case around the lizards, and heat packs. I got dead lizards in newspaper. Now I have to go through the trouble of trying to get my money back for some dead ackies.

Moral of the story, Assume everyone is the most ignorant SOB on the plannet if you are going to have them ship you something, and Make sure they follow your shipping instructions WORD FOR WORD!!!!!

If you couldn't tell, im a bit Irate at the situation that I am in.

P.S. - There is nothing more sad than dead 3.5 month old ackies, that died due to ignorance and neglegence.

Hey Truth sorry to hear your loss. If the guy is honest he'll send your money back. Man it was below freezing here why would either of you want to ship anything even in styrofoam ther is no gaurantee. Any experienced shipper will tell you no-gaurantees in areaa below 40 degrees. That was an error on both parties part. On a more postive note Bar got some Mccreai, some beccarri & a south african albigularis from the show. Give me a buzz

Anything under fourty is risky, however, you have a hell of a better chance with styrofoam than you do with newspaper.

I saw Bar at the show, but didnt see you there. Those are some nice aquisitions to his collection. I Wish him all the luck.

If I really had the ambition, i would have looked twice at the large blue tree monitor they had there. I was in the market for a trio of ackies or a solo kimberly, but couldn't find either. I guess im back into looking for ackies ...

Well, I guess Sh*t happens. Life will go on. I dont htink i have your number anymore, if you could email it to me, that would be good.

it doesnt take a scientist to work out that you cant just pack em off like some ornament, newspaper?that might help a dog or cat keep warm but reptiles rely on outside temps to raise body temps.Surelyif this person bought them impulse or not they would know this?Oh well sorry to hear about such a tragic loss, but theres not much you can do now except chase for your money back.

So sorry to hear about your loss, it must have been heartbreaking to open the box and find them. I just received a female yellow ackie today from California and the guy who sent her to me followed my instructions to the letter. He was just an owner who decided he didn't want her anymore, so I sent him heat packs to ship with her to Wisconsin. It is around 36 here. She was toasty warm. You are 100% right, if they don't know, you have to clearly state exactly how you want them shipped and HOPE they follow your directions. Again, very sorry.
