Ligth coloured Hognose

AngryDwarf Dec 09, 2003 03:26 PM

Hi,

I'm quite new to hognoses, but picked this one up in a herp shop, he looks a lot lighter than normal, does anyone think there's something special about him? he has a black belly, so can't be a hypo? still looks different to me though, any thoughts?

No nothing special, just a light phased individual.

Some breeders will sell snakes like yours as "blond" and sell them for slightly more. All westerns have different color phases, which make them fun to own and breed. Don't confuse "blond" Westerns with blond Mexicans which look very different and are worth much more. There are also Malagasy Blonde Hognose snakes (Leioheterodon modestus).
